Bio

In recent news, Brant served as a camera operator on four episodes of the Fox network’s highest rated broadcast TV program, “9-1-1”, during its 2021-2022 season. The program, sometimes referred to as a police procedural, stars Anglela Bassett. Another significant development for Brant, was his acceptance into the IATSE 600 Camera Guild, Western Region, as a Director of Photography.

You may recognize the two legendary ASC cinematographers pictured above. Both Roger Deakins and Vilmos Zsigmund have been very influential as source of inspiration and learning for Brant’s techniques and approaches to cinematography. In all projects, narrative or commercial, Brant is passionate about creating artistically beautiful, cinematic, visual storytelling. Creating images that evoke emotion, tell a story, and compel an audience has always driven him and continues to this day. He loves what he does, and it shows.

In commercial work, Brant’s visual style helped create the award winning brand identity for a major American health system, receiving regional Emmy awards for multiple years' campaigns. His commercial client list includes Purina, AT&T, Cox Communication, McDonald's, Alamo, Caterpillar, Stihl, Enterprise, FirstBank, and the U.S. Army.

His narrative work has won cinematography awards in the US and Europe, including a 2018 Best Cinematography in a Short Film at the Glendale International Film Festival. In 2013, Brant wrote, directed, shot, and edited the multi-award winning film, The Battle of Island Mound. Commissioned by the state of Missouri, the film depicts the first-ever battle fought by African-American soldiers in the Civil War. Shot over the course of just two weekends, it went on to win 7 awards, including two regional Emmys.

From the very beginning, through today, meticulous attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling is the foundation of how Brant goes about his craft.
